Hi. My name is William Thomas Askew. I live in Arcata, a small town in northern California. I go to school at Six Rivers Charter High School. In order to graduate, it is required of all enrolled students to submit a portfolio and have it evaluated by selected portfolio officials. This blog is part of said process. The officials have decided that this year we are going to do portfolio electronically in a blog format, hence this webpage. After the officials have evaluated our essays we meet for an interview so they can learn more about me and the reasoning behind my writing. I have revised and submitted three of my best writing samples for them to read. By clicking on one of the links on the right you gain access to my essays and other submitted pieces of work.
I believe that I am an above average writer. I always finish my work on time due to my ability to work diligently without getting sidetracked or distracted. I thoroughly research my topic to learn about both sides of the argument or disagreement I am writing about. I feel that in the two years I have attended this high school, I have drastically improved in my writing ability. Without the support and persistence of the teacher who make this school the way it is, I would not be as good of a writer as I am today.
